NASPA-KKM collaborates with Kpone Katamanso Municipal Assembly to embark on a massive beach cleanup exercise




The National Service Personnel Association in collaboration with Kpone-Katamanso Municipal Assembly embarked on a beach clean-up exercise in Kpone on 26th March, 2022.

The clean-up exercise was to improve the sanitary condition at Kpone beach and it immediate environment with the agenda “Cleanliness is next to Godliness”.

The Municipal Coordinating Director; Mr. Michael Owusu- Amoako expressed his gratitude and commended the effort of personnel in honoring the program. He also advised users of the beach to keep the place neat, to avoid polluting the air as well as degrading the shores of the beach.

The Environmental Health and Sanitation Analyst; Mr. Michael Awuah praised the NASPA executives and personnel for making the clean-up exercise a success. He said that, this initiative will encourage users of beach to put up their best in keeping the shores clean.

The Municipal NSS Manager; Mr. Immanuel Nii Larte Lartey and NASPA President Mr. Godson K.A Tengey acknowledged the presence of the Coordinating Director and the assembly for assisting the National Service Personnel Association (NASPA) executives to accomplish their clean-up project. They also congratulated the executives and personnel who attended the program for their good work done.

The day commenced with some personnel from Kpone, Zenu, Katamanso etc., who cleaned up the shores of the beach and its environment. Personnel raked the shores and gathered rubbish with the help of other fishermen who were present at the time, together with the help of a zoom lion worker who drove the zoom lion truck. Personnel were given item 13 which served as refreshment at the end of the clean-up.

The event was successfully accomplished but there were few challenges faced, especially with the fact that, some of the personnel proved adamant whiles others hoped the exercise will be reinforced and not diminished.
